To unpathed waters, undreamed shores

Its been awhile since I sat at my desk to update my blog. There has been so many changes; good changes and yes, challenging changes.
My husband and I have been leasing an apartment just across the bridge from NYC in NJ. I love the fact we live so close to all hustle and bustle but yearn for a home with sea views and some peace and quiet:)
It took us over a year to find our “forever property” along Jersey Shore. Although I have discussed what we want to accomplish with our new “old” property, I haven’t had the chance to drop a line to give an update on some additional changes. Kevin’s idea was to relocate to the old home while the carriage house (Phase One) heads toward construction. He felt we should live “onsite” in the old house and be on hand if and when the contractors should need us for Phase One. I had other plans to stay closer to NYC in my cozy and beautiful apartment until the new property (Phase One and Two) is “move in ready”.
Plan A would be to continue on living in the old house until the massive addition is built for Phase Two. When the builder is ready to gut the old house to blend to the new addition, we will relocate to the carriage house until Phase Two is completed. When Kevin first threw the idea at me, I thought he was joking! Maybe lost his mind? Killing me softly lol
There was absolutely no way I was going to up and move and live in the midst of all this construction!
So where am I at right now? Guess? We packed and loaded from the apartment to the old house. Then unload and unpack in the old house. Then we will pack and move to the carriage house. And…pack and unpack when the main house is ready. I believe the joke is on me?
I now am settled into the old house and can not get over the incredible view! Its the best thing to wake up to. The sunrise and sunsets are beautiful. In a few years, I will look back at this time and yes, many challenging changes. However, these are small bumps compared to the good changes and the memories we are going to make here at Robbins by the Bay.
BTW…there are very few times my husband is right, I am very happy he convinced me to move 🙂
