His name is New York City. A place to sneak away and escape the reality of daily commitments and responsibilities. A day of indulging in bad behavior like shopping, snacking and people watching. What more can a girl ask for beside as day trip to the city of cities!
Everyone dreams of a trip to New York……Broadway shows, 5th Ave, Soho, Central Park, Statue of Liberty, Times Square and lets not forget the endless amount of restaurants, hotdog stands and treats. Kevin and I are just an hour drive from Holland Tunnel, which is an amazing excuse to pack up for the day and head to NYC. And this girl loves to do just that, head to the city of cities!
I have been to NYC on many occasions and I have a routine, some call me a traditionalist. I start my day at my favorite restaurant Sarabeth’s on central for a cappuccino and then head to Central Park for fresh air and people watching until the stores open. My two favorites departments are always first only list when I am in NY, Bergdorf and Saks. If i have the time I love to stop in and shop at Bloomingdales. The rest of my day is exploring the smaller retail stores in the city, and taking small breaks enjoying a glass of wine or cappuccino and snacks.
After a few hours of shopping, I grab a nice lunch and hail another cab to another favorite store. I blend right in just like a local, hailing cabs and spending money LOL If anyone can do NYC in a day, it’s ME! I’m proud of it, no shame in my game:) I also love making itineraries for family and friends when they want to travel to NY. I have made my husband walk 21 miles in three days in between hailing a few cabs. I have been through Manhattan, Times Square, Noho, Soho, Bowery, HIghland Park, Tribeca, Little Italy, China Town, Greenwich and all of Central Park. Kevin and I have been to Brooklyn too. There is so much to explore and always something new! Drop me a hello at anytime and I would love to give you the deets on where the best places to shop and to eat!
